Plans for the National Landlords Association (NLA) first ever National Conference in November are progressing well.
With the theme ‘Operating in Today’s Market: Future Prospects for Landlords’, and open to members and non-members alike, the Conference offers all landlords the opportunity to discuss issues which directly affect their lettings business as well as hearing from influential and expert speakers.
One of the speakers will be Iain Wright MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at Communities and Local Government. The NLA describes him as a champion of the private-rented sector who has spoken often about the contribution private landlords make to the housing mix.
Also speaking is Dr Julie Rugg, Centre of Housing Policy, University of York. Her independent review of the private-rented sector is due to be published shortly before the conference which is being held on Saturday 29 November from noon at Jurys Inn, Birmingham.
Andrew Heywood, Deputy Head of Policy, Council of Mortgage Lenders and housing expert Professor Tony Crook, University of Sheffield will join property experts and portfolio landlords during a ‘Question Time’ debate chaired by Richard Dyson, Deputy Personal Finance Editor at The Mail on Sunday.
In addition to the main speakers, the Conference includes an exhibition, opportunities for networking and breakout sessions helping delegates on a wide range of issues from possession proceedings to Local Housing Allowance and sale and rent back.
NLA chairman David Salusbury said: “With such an array of decision-makers and experts on the sector, this is a must for all landlords.
