A family with a long history of anti-social behaviour, including an armed response unit being deployed to the property, a dangerous dog being shot dead by Police, a drive by petrol bombing and a 10 hour armed siege have finally been evicted from their rented accommodation.
Weapons recovered from the house, owned by Chester & District Housing Trust, included a replica fire arm and cross bow.
His Honour Judge Halbert, the designated civil judge for Cheshire, sitting at Chester Castle, gave the Housing Trust an immediate possession order against Mrs Josephine Harvey in respect of her tenancy of the house at Brentwood Road, Blacon.
The judge also made five year Anti Social Behaviour Orders (ASBOs ) against Mrs Harvey and her husband, Granville Harvey (Snr), imposing numerous conditions as to their behaviour and excluding them from the Handbridge area with immediate effect.
The Trust undertook not to enforce the possession order until after Christmas. The date for eviction is 8 January 2009. Mr and Mrs Harvey's ASBOs will also exclude them from the Blacon area after that date until the 13th November 2013.
The Judge also made five year ASBOs against their three sons, Liam, Seamus and Granville Harvey (Jnr) imposing numerous conditions as to their behaviour and excluding them from the Blacon, Handbridge, Newton and Lache areas of Chester, all with immediate effect.
The orders follow a long history of anti-social behaviour by Mr and Mrs Harvey and their three sons which included a police siege of the property in March of this year.
A spokesperson from CDHT’s Tenancy Action Team said: “This sends out a strong message to the community that the Trust and police will take whatever action is necessary to ensure that the occupants and neighbours of its 6,200 properties are not subjected to the intolerable anti-social behaviour of a small and selfish minority.”
Chester & District Housing Trust (CDHT) was created in November 2000 to acquire the housing stock of Chester District Council and now owns and manages over 6,200 properties in and around. It provides a range of services to tenants and residents in Chester and surrounding areas.
