The head of a buy to let empire that went bust earlier this year owing millions to creditors has set up a new company offering minimum investment and maximum return property deals.
Jim Moore formerly ran Inside Track Seminars (ITS) and Instant Access Properties (IAP) which promised to help investors profit out of the property market.
The Guardian alleged this week that Moore recently spoke at a private IAP Global seminar at Windsor Racecourse attended by some 60 investors, where he admitted his former ventures did ‘not do well’.
The newspaper said that Moore's new vehicle is IAP Global, but alleged a liquidator is set to probe deals between collapsed company IAP and Engle Properties, a company Moore incorporated in the British Virgin Islands.
A spokesperson for IAP told Residential Landlord that the Guardian report was inaccurate and that it was likely to be the subject of legal action.
• The Church of Scotland has joined the National Landlords Association (NLA), becoming its first ecclesiastical member.
The General Trustees of the Church of Scotland, currently housing 25 tenants, are responsible for all property-related matters for the Kirk including those properties within the private-rented sector.
Tim Parker, Deputy Secretary, General Trustees of the Church of Scotland, said: “The Church of Scotland prides itself on providing a high standard of rental accommodation to its tenants. By joining the NLA, this commitment is demonstrated more fully.
“With increased regulation in the Scottish private-rented sector, it has never been more important for all landlords, large or small, to stay completely up-to-date with changes in regulations. We are confident the NLA will help us to do this from the outset.”
Jim Parker, Chairman, NLA Scotland, welcoming the Church of Scotland’s membership, said: “The NLA is very pleased to welcome the Church of Scotland as a full member. Although the Kirk only has a small number of privately renting tenants, by joining the NLA they are committing to the highest standards of best practice.”
