Landlords in the greater Norwich area are being offered a helping hand through a variety of soon to be launched initiatives.
The Norwich landlord forum hosted by Norwich City Council, in association with the greater Norwich housing partnership (GNHP), made up of Norwich City Council, Broadland District Council, South Norfolk Council and Eastern Landlords Association – will be held on Wednesday 18 February from 5-8pm at the Council Chambers at County Hall.
Landlords will be given information about their responsibilities, and those of their tenants, as well as advice on grants that are available to those wanting to make energy efficiency improvements.
A website and guide will also be launched, designed to make renting a little easier by providing easy access to letting information.
Norwich Council believes the current economical downturn has affected the housing market which has lead to property owners turning to the private rental market. However, the authority is concerned that this could cause an increase of inexperienced landlords which could result in them involuntarily breaking the law.
In response to the housing market change, the GNHP are launching some initiatives to help those in the private rented sector. Some of these initiatives will be discussed at the Norwich landlord forum on the 18 February where we aim to help landlords with some of the current issues and topics.
Landlords can reserve their free place by emailing landlordforum@norwich.gov.uk or phoning 01603 212849 and giving their name and business.
