A new guide has been produced for landlords and letting agents by Oxford City Council's Environmental Development service.
The authority says ‘Oxford Landlords: A Good Practice Guide’ provides all the information needed to be a good landlord and information on how to comply with current legislation.
Cllr Joe McManners, Board Member for Housing, said: “This guide will be a vital tool for landlords and letting agents.
“We have a huge need for housing and in particular, private rented housing, which we estimate makes up around 26 percent of our total housing stock.
“We want to support the many excellent landlords and agents in their work and give them the recognition that they deserve as well as promoting our efforts to improve poor standards in the sector.
“We want to provide clear guidance and help to improve standards in the sector, the quality of homes and improve the energy efficiency and security of rented properties.”
